The VOYAGER 510 Bluetooth
Headset System by Plantronics
Having a particular communication system to
establish we tried several solutions. The brief was
that the chosen headset had to work 'in-house' with
desk-top PCs and 'out in the field' with notebooks.
The headset also had to be wireless to allow us the
freedom to get to files etc that were not readily
accessible at the desk.
We first used the VOYAGER 510 unit on a trial / loan
basis because one major problem we had to overcome
was with 'uplift to an 'orbital receiver unit'
(satellite) and phone link. The unit appears to be
first class and is providing the communications
links that we need. Approximately ten units will be
used when we are fully up and running with our site
teams. My sincere thanks for the help and assistance
you gave us. |

“The
Voyager 510 is an excellent headset that combines
interfacing with several devices seamlessly. I have
successfully used it via a mobile phone, via a
deskphone and via a PC.
Integration with the deskphone is somewhat
cumbersome in that the interface unit's setup and
switch layout can lead to some confusion. The
handset lifter is the best I've seen and works well
(as long as the interface unit is plugged in to the
handset jack NOT the headset jack).
Integration to a softphone client on a PC is basic
in that control of functions remains with the client
(the headset purely giving the voicepath).
From a comfort viewpoint the Voyager 510 is very
comfortable as long as the user does not wear
glasses. The design of the earpiece makes it's
prolonged use whilst wearing glasses uncomfortable
at best.˝
